Kelly Creedon

Artist Statement: 

As a documentary photographer and multimedia producer, Kelly Creedon explores social issues including economic and housing justice, labor rights, and immigration. She frequently partners with nonprofit and grassroots organizations to use image, sound, and story as tools to help shift public dialogue and policy around important social issues. Ms. Creedon is the creator and artist behind the project We Shall Not Be Moved: Stories from the grassroots struggle against foreclosure. This multimedia project combines compelling photography and moving audio testimonies to tell the story of families fighting to protect their homes and communities against the devastating impact of foreclosure. For more on the project, visit http://www.weshallnotbemoved.net She is a 2008 graduate of the Salt Institute for Documentary Studies in Portland, Maine, where she studied documentary photography and audio production. Before attending Salt, she worked as a journalist and community educator and organizer in Boston, MA, and El Salvador.
