Programs and Services:

Articulate is a dynamic, national creative learning programme that prioritises awareness of, access to, engagement with and participation in the arts by children and young people.

Articulate has equality, diversity and inclusion at its core and designs services that benefit Scotland’s most marginalised and vulnerable young people, especially those who are care experienced, carers, disabled, at risk, ethnically diverse or living in poverty in our most challenged communities.

Articulate improves the aspirations, achievements, attainment and well-being of children and young people of all backgrounds, but especially those from disadvantaged areas. We deliver highly creative programmes for children and communities that are co-designed and -owned, focused on positive outcomes and lead to industry-standard productions, exhibitions and events.

Articulate works with the most skilled and knowledgeable teaching artists in Scotland, across all the art-forms and inclusively with children of all ages and at all stages of their social, educational and creative development.

Articulate is run by a multi-award winning Chief Executive; supported by experienced Trustees from academia, the third and the private sectors; a talented collective of associates and a youth advisory group comprising care experienced young people and young carers.

In support, The Articulate Hub offers creative consultation and research services, collaborations and learning interventions that highlight and amplify the social, educational and economic benefits of arts participation in Scotland.

Articulate’s vision is for a nation in which the talents of all young people can truly shine, in a society where there are no barriers to creative engagement and participation. Our mission is to promote excellence of opportunity in education and employment, ensuring diverse and marginalised potential is discovered, nurtured and supported.
