Student Ambassador Program at Center Theatre Group

Location:  Los Angeles, CA
Country:

Project Description:

Center Theatre Group (CTG) is a place where artists, audiences, community members, and students and educators connect through the power of storytelling. Since 1967, our mission has been to serve the diverse audiences of Los Angeles by producing and presenting theatre of the highest caliber, by nurturing new artists, by attracting new audiences, and by developing youth outreach and arts education programs. This mission is based on a belief that the art of theatre is a cultural force with the capacity to transform the lives of individuals and society at large.

Our programs support artists at all points in their careers, engage audiences before and after the show, encourage our community to make theatre a part of their everyday lives, and inspire the next generation of theatregoers, artists, and artisans.

CTG’s Student Ambassador Program is the ultimate experience for Los Angeles County high school students who love the arts: an entirely free, seven-month program designed to transform passionate young people into arts leaders, team players, advocates, and engagement experts. No arts, theatre, or leadership experience is required to participate. Participants are divided into groups with long-term projects and goals, like designing special events for their peers and teaching teens how to become advocates for the arts.

Ambassadors receive a $500 stipend after seven months of service (October – May) and when all program requirements have been met. Program Participants also receive tickets to shows during their service, recognition on the organization’s website, and at student events.
