What I Want My Words To Do To You

“What I Want My Words To Do To You” offers an unprecedented look into the minds and hearts of the women inmates of New York's Bedford Hills Correctional Facility. The film goes inside a writing workshop led by playwright and activist Eve Ensler, consisting of 15 women, most of whom were convicted of murder. Through a series of exercises and discussions, the women delve into their pasts and explore the nature of their crimes and the extent of their own culpability.

In October 2005, Artmakers Inc. completed its 3,300 square foot mural When Women Pursue Justice. When Women Pursue Justice celebrates 90 women who led or participated in movements for social change in the United States over the past 150 years. Native and foreign-born, Native American, and women of color, these women often risked life and liberty to achieve voting rights, civil rights and racial justice, health and reproductive rights, gay rights, immigrant rights, environmental justice and protection, and workplace/arts access and equality.
Wishes for the Sky
Saint Paul , MN
Wishes for the Sky is a free, experiential, public art event celebrating the arrival of spring, environmental sustainability, and personal and collective wish-making. This one-of-a-kind art project has become a signature Earth Day event for the Twin Cities. Inspired by the ancient Asian traditions of flying wishes on kites, it is a contemporary art event integrating music, temporary sculpture, poetry, interactive sound collage, visual art, and public kite-flying.

The program addresses systemic mis-education of Black youth and youth of color in Atlanta school systems and connects young people to social movements.
Zion Canyon Song Cycle
Springdale, UT
The Zion Canyon Song Cycle is the result of a lively blend of civic dialogue, creativity, oral history, participatory democracy, and music. The Cycle is comprised of sixteen original songs that celebrate the history, community preoccupations, and contemporary life of Zion National Park and its neighboring communities. The music takes the form of song stories, based on community dialogues and oral histories gathered from local residents. Composer and former Springville, Utah mayor Phillip Bimstein wrote the lyrics of the Zion Canyon Song Cycle.
